January 2010
We have started a new year and are already having to cope with snow and rearranging our busy schedules!
Here are some thoughts to encourage us to make the most of it;
A number of years ago we discussed at a church meeting how we as a church would make the most of very opportunity we had, because as a small church there may not be many opportunities. I can’t help feeling that this snow is one such opportunity.

Ephesians 5 v 16
Be very careful then how you live – not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity
|
First, is the opportunity
to ring the people in your carecell and other regular contacts. Use the opportunity to ring them to see how they are getting on. It’s a good excuse for a chat
and to show that you care.
Second, it’s a chance to
speak to your neighbours and offer to help in practical ways Why not call round and see if they need any help, particularly for
elderly neighbours and friends, single parents and those on their own? Maybe
you could get some shopping, look after someone’s children, invite them for a
meal etc.
Third, it’s an unplanned
opportunity to meet up with those in your carecell and others who are nearby. This is when having a carecell in every street would be fantastic and why it is part of our vision! Have some fun and build
community!

Matthew 5 v 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven
|
I pray for protection for you all, and for peace and wisdom about decisions you may have to make about going out and to work etc.
